How to Choose the Right Membrane
Three key factors determine the best membrane for your application.
Feed Water Quality
Brackish water (<10,000 ppm TDS) calls for BW30-400, TMG20-400, or CSM RE8040. Seawater (35,000 ppm TDS) requires SWC5-LD, LG SW 400 R, or Qfx SW 400 R.
Energy Efficiency
Low-pressure membranes like Toray TMG20-400 operate at just 365 psi (25.2 bar) — ideal when reducing energy costs is a priority.
Fouling Resistance
For challenging feed water, choose Hydranautics SWC5-LD (Low Fouling Technology), CSM RE8040-FD/FL, or LG SW 400 R with 34 mil spacer.
